What Are SAAS Contracts?

A SaaS (Software as a Service) agreement is a contract between a SaaS provider and a customer that outlines the terms under which software services are delivered over the internet.

Unlike traditional software that requires local installation and maintenance, SaaS provides access to software via a web browser, with the software and data hosted on the provider's remote servers. The agreement details aspects such as subscription payments, user access, data security, and support services.

Key clauses often include user access rights, customer service standards, data ownership and security, licensing scope, liability limitations, and terms for service performance and renewal. This type of agreement helps define the responsibilities and expectations for both the provider and the customer, ensuring clarity and protection for both parties.
